Tall Bottom Trawl

Nichimo Tall Bottom Trawl has a larger net opening height that is twice to four times as large as that of conventional bottom trawls.

It is a perfect solution to catch bottom fish species that may expand vertically to upper water layers in a certain season or at a certain time of the day. It is popular among fishing masters in Japan, who are not satisfied with bottom trawls with a conventional, limited net opening height.

The rubber disks are attached to the footrope for bottom trawling the net. It is also towed in midwater, off the bottom.

Because it has a larger net opening height, Nichimo Tall Bottom Trawl is a better alternative to conventional midwater trawls for targeting and catching a fish school that has a large vertical height and migrates over rough bottom topography.

Fishermen in Japan refer Nichimo Tall Bottom Trawl as a "half midwater trawl."

We offer Nichimo Tall Bottom Trawl custom-designed for individual vessels, with optimum specifications corresponding to their horsepower, gross tonnage, and gear and equipment on board as well as their operating fishing grounds and target fish species.
